TWLOHA: Hope

**for the purposes of this post, pretend the picture doesn’t have text on it**

I’ve been getting involved with the To Write Love On Her Arms street team lately. It’s pretty cool stuff. I reccommend checking them out. They do a lot to help out girls who struggle with cutting, depression, suicidal thoughts, etc.

One of the little tasks I was assigned on the site (they call them orders) was to pick something that represented hope to me, take a picture of it, and add it as a ‘proof’. This is the picture I chose, minus the text. this picture reminds me of hope because despite the raindrops, the sun is shining through, and you know that just around the corner is a beautiful, sunny day.

It’s probably a bit cliche, but still.

So why get involved in this organization? Is it something you do online or do you meet with people locally? I’d like more info.

      good question.
you can do both. if you join the online street team, they give you “orders” of different things you can do to promote TWLOHA, ranging anywhere from simply joining their group on the facebook application “causes”, to putting on a benefit for them.

the goal of To Write Love On Her Arms is ultimately to love, simply put. the way they choose to show that love is going out and building rehab centers and working with teens who struggle with addiction, depression, cutting, etc., but is not limited to that. they’re always doing something or other. you can read more about their vision here: http://www.twloha.com/vision/

you can join an ‘intel’ in your particular location, which is basically a venue that supports TWLOHA, and depending on the specific limitations of the venue they may hold benefits or other TWLOHA related events. or you can organize one through them.

i highly reccommend getting involved with them, they’re a great organization and they are very involved and active.
